Because this is genuine leather, slight variation in grain, tone, and engraving response is normal and part of the finished look. That natural variation gives every run authentic character. If your project requires the most uniform color and engraving from patch to patch, laser engraved leatherette may be the better fit.

Clean vector artwork produces the sharpest engraving, but high-resolution raster artwork can also work well when the design has strong contrast. Logos, text, badges, line art, outdoor branding, western artwork, and heritage-style designs are especially strong fits for laser engraved leather. Full-color gradients, photographs, and highly color-dependent artwork are usually better suited to UV printed patches.

What artwork works best for laser engraved leather patches?
Clean vector artwork gives the sharpest results, especially for logos, text, badges, and line art. High-resolution PNG or JPG artwork can also work when it has strong contrast. We review artwork before production and can help identify files that need cleanup.
How are Top Grain leather patches applied to hats?
Every patch comes with Lonestar Adhesive pre-applied. Position the patch on the hat and use the recommended heat-press settings for your hat and patch material. No sewing is required for normal heat-press application.
